Rainbow Room News March WK 3

Rainbow Room Newsletter
March 16th - 20th

LAST WEEK:
Last week was all about Eric Carle and his amazing books and art!
We read a different book each day from Eric Carle and created fun crafts to go with them!  Be sure to check them out outside the classroom!

THIS WEEK:
This week we are doing a two part week on Fairytales and Nursery Rhymes!  
We will read about the three bears, three pigs, St. Patricks day, hansel and gretel and the gingerbread man!
We will get to make fun crafts, yummy treats and play fun games!

TUESDAY 17th:
Wear green!
Hough Parade - we will be releasing EARLY 11:45am (please come on time) to be able for families to have lunch and make it to the parade!  It is highly suggested to bring a lunch for your child at pickup so you can feed them before the parade.

Rainbow Room News March WK 2

March 9th - 13th

LAST WEEK:
Last week we learned about Dr. Seuss and his wonderful books and celebrating his birthday!  We got to decorate paper and real cupcakes, we made Seuss creatures, read some funny books, practiced our counting and colors with fish and more!

THIS WEEK:
We will be celebrating the works of Eric Carle!!  We will be reading some of his amazing books, creating bandaid fireflies, stretching our bodies out like different animals, making the mixed up chameleon snack mix, making cloud creations and more!

March 2nd-6th

Last Week:
Last week we continued learning about community helpers. We had a visit from a train conductor and a dentist!

This Week:
We are celebrating Dr. Seuss birthday!!!  We will get to decorate cupcakes - real ones and playdough ones, we will be making cat in the hat masks,  foot painting, whisking eggs, fish paintings, and more!

This week:
This week we are continuing our theme on Community helpers and transportation!
This week  we will talk about trains, mail carriers, chefs, librarians and construction trucks! 

Monday:
We will be having a train conductor coming into class to talk about trains! 
If you do not come to class on mondays you are more then welcome to come tomorrow at 11am to hear Chevy the train conductor talk about trains! Parents/ guardians must stay.

February 16th - 20th 

LAST WEEK:
Last week was all about Valentine's day!  We had a very fun and full week learning about love and hearts and being kind to our friends!  We got to make lots of cute heart animals, spell our names with hearts, make hearts using our hands and more!  We also had a fun time at our Valentine's Party!  

THIS WEEK:
This week we are starting our 2 part week on Community Helpers/ Transportation.
We will learn about air, land and sea vehicles, firefighters and fire trucks, police cars and emergency responders, and doctors, dentists and veterinarians!  

SHARING:
Community Helper or transportation related. 

BOX TOPS:
The student who brings in the most box tops by 2/28 will receive a free tickets to Auction!

AUCTION:

Rainbow Room News Feb WK 2

February 9th - 13th

LAST WEEK:
Last week we worked on self- help skills.  We practiced how to brush teeth using chatter teeth, we learned how much toilet paper we need after using the toilet.  We worked on putting our shoes back on our feet when they fall off all on our own and we practiced feeding ourselves family style during snack using tongs and mini pitchers to pour our water then washing our dishes when we were finished.  

This week we are talking about Valentine's Day!!  We will be making cute Valentines art and playing Valentines games, we will get to help pass out valentines cards and make mini pizzas for our valentines party!

VALENTINES PARTY:
Friday 13th @ 11am
Parents/ grandparents are welcome to come at 11 to celebrate with your child!
If you do not come on a Friday you are still more then welcome to attend the party.  Come at 11, parent must stay.

Come in RED, PINK, or WHITE 

We will be making mini pizzas to enjoy, there is a sign up outside the classroom, if you haven't signed up yet!

VALENTINE CARDS:
There are a list of all the class names for valentines outside the classroom.
You can bring valentines throughout the week, the children will have bags out for the week that will go home on Friday after the party.  We will help your child put their valentines in their friends bags!

NO SCHOOL:
MONDAY 16th 

LAPS FOR LAPS:
Thursday 12th
5:30-7pm
Support our program and your child while they walk or jog around our track!
Family and friends can pledge per lap or a set amount for participants.
Pledge sheets went home in cubbies!
Come and join us for a fun night!

FAMILY FUN NIGHT:
Feb 27th 
5:30-7pm
We will celebrate the works of Dr Seuss with crafts, games, story time and more!
This is a free event for our families!

PLAYROOM HOURS:
Playroom will be open 15 min before class and close promptly at 12pm

SPRING AUCTION:
4/18 at Big Als 5-8pm
Its our biggest fundraiser we have!
Auction funds will go towards a new preschool sign and classroom/ playroom updates
Tickets go on sale 3/2/15
Early Bird tickets $18/ ticket
$34/ couple
After 4/10 $22/ person $40/couple
tickets include $10 card for games!

Rainbow Room News Feb wk 1

February 2nd - 6th

LAST WEEK:
Last week it was all about colors and shapes!  Some of the things we did were a lot of color mixing with colored ice, water, and paints.  We learned about different shapes and got to use paper shapes to create whatever we wanted!

THIS WEEK:
This week we are learning about Self-help Skills.  How to put your clothes and shoes on, how to wash your hands and how much toilet paper to use, folding towels, washing our dishes after we are done with them, blowing our nose, brushing our teeth, setting the table and more.

Numbers will be handed out at 8:30am outside preschool office

If your child has a fever, vomiting, green nasal congestion, or not feeling well please keep them home.
