Rainbow Room Newsletter October Week 2: 7-11

Rainbow Room Newsletter
October 7th - 11th

Last Week
Last week we learned A is for Apples!  We had so much fun learning about apples and how they can be used in different ways.  We got to do an apple tasting and try red, yellow, and green apples and see which ones were sour and/ or sweet!  We also got to practice using a plastic knife to slice apples up and make dehydrated apples!  It was fun to see how the apples changed and what they tasted like.  Next we used our chopping skills again to create applesauce!  We chopped, mixed, and tasted our yummy creation!

This week
This week we are learning F is for Farm!  We will be creating some feathered friends that we may see on a farm, creating some sheep as well as piggies!  We will be learning new farm songs, as well as reading some silly farm books!  Sharing this week can be something that begins with the letter F and/or a farm related!!

Carnival
It was so fun to see some of the families that were able to make it to the carnival!  Thanks again parents for all your help!!

Tuition
Tuition is due by Thursday 10th at the latest.  The tuition bucket is outside of the classroom by the sign in sheet.

ASQ
Your ASQ packets are due by Friday 11th.  Thanks to those that have already turned them in!

Pumpkin Patch
The Pumpkin Patch is Thursday 17th 10:00am and Friday 18th 10:00am.  There are directions to the pumpkin patch that will be in your child's boxes to go home.  We have been asked that one adult attend with each child enrolled.  Extra adults are welcome to attend, they will just need to pay at the patch.  Younger siblings are welcome as well, children 1 year or younger are free, children older then 1 year will need to pay at the patch.  The cost this year is $5.00 per child.  The prices includes:  visiting the animals, mini-maze, hay pyramid, covered hay ride to the patch and a pumpkin.  Children will again receive a bag for their pumpkin.  Children must be able to carry their pumpkin from the patch without adult assistance.  Parents may purchase extra pumpkins at the patch fro the going rate per pound.

Please be sure to meet me 15 minutes prior to 10:00am.  Parking can be very tight this time of year, so you may want to carpool if you can.  We go rain or shine so dress in layers and wear boots!  You could even bring an extra change of clothes for the car!

Reminders
As always please provide a coat for your child, if its not raining we will most likely be going outside!

Looking forward to this week!
